When I got an alert that the Festival of Snow was happening, Peppino needed a break, so I sent Audrey there on her own.
The Festival of Snow was added with the Snowy Escape expansion pack, which I bought but never played. This was all new to me, and it was stunning.
The festival happens in the Yukimatsu neighborhood, and as someone who grew up in Alaska but hasn’t been back in 20+ years, I am fully digging this “sunny winter day” aesthetic.
The bright sunlight, the long shadows, the slight pink blush on the snow… fantastic.
My only complaint is they went a little bit overboard with the depth of field/mock-tilt-shift look. The overly-blurred objects in the background kinda make my eyes water a little.
But who cares – look at that orange plastic snow fence! YES.
They did a great job with all the little details, like the way the snow piles up between your legs and kinda technically ruins any snow angel. (At least if you’re OCD like me, it does.)
A bunch of people were just standing around the top of the ski slope, so Audrey chatted for a while until she started getting hungry. Guess it’s time to head down the hill!
Ooh, watch those knees, girl! French fries! Pizza! Pizza! Pizza! Okay, french fries!
Great work! Time to hit the food stands!
After eating some delicious snacks while standing in front of the food booth (relatable) Audrey wandered around and checked out the sights.
She got a selfie with the festival mascot, Yamachan.
And bought a snow suit from a vending machine (???)
All in all, it was a great day out.
ah! here I am – I finally completely caught up! I used to read the Splines back when it was in the bunker days (AKA 10 years ago – crazy how long it’s been)! I was only 14!! I was thinking about this time a few weeks ago, and it inspired me to go look at MY old sims blogs that I wrote, and I dug up the old blogs I followed when the Splines originally went on hiatus. Then I thought, there’s no way the Splines is back up and running – but I figured a google search was worth it, and here you are! I’ve loved catching up and seeing the new additions with the sims 4 thought I agree – I actually also like sims 3 better overall, I think (though I haven’t played 3 in forever… I’ll have to buy it again and find out).
Thanks for always being here.
Hi Doodledog! I’m glad to hear you’re doing well. I can’t believe it’s been 10 years. Thank YOU for always being here! (And sorry I missed your comment, it got eaten by my spam filter.)
