Marla’s daily clock is all out of whack, thanks to her strange hours on the Criminal career track. She woke up in the middle of the night and went across the street to do a bit of suburban fishing.
Later, Irfan awoke with a collection of baby-related wishes. He wanted to be near Marla, to give her a massage and feel her belly.
Their “together time” was interrupted by… labor! Even at 102, Irfan managed to keep up with Marla as she sprinted to catch a taxi to the hospital. When they emerged with Baby Kay, at first I thought Marla was abandoning Irfan there. He looked so forlorn, watching her leave.
He did finally catch up to her. But as soon as they arrived home, Irfan passed into the Great Sim Beyond.
Marla was heartbroken.
Luckily, Baby Kay doesn’t seem to have noticed that she just witnessed her father’s death.
