I hope you read this post title in your best Oprah Excited Announcement Voice because that’s what I had in mind when I wrote it.
I only have two items left on the Sims 24 While 24 Checklist Challenge: “Toilet paper one of the University statues” and “Fight the paparazzi.” While I waited for the twins to grow up and go to University, I decided to start making a Sim famous enough to have paparazzi.
Oh, but, hey, before I get to that – have you looked at your household calendar recently?
I clicked to open it by accident. It immediately gave me anxiety. I stared at it for a few minutes, then closed it. Hopefully never to open it again.
If you want to check the calendar, it’s here:
Look at Henry, so confident in his ridiculous hat! It’s the Crystal Crown, and if you load it up with a diamond, it makes you more famous when you wear it. (Or more whatever, depending on which crystal you use.)
The downside is that if you wear it for more than four hours, you get an “Embarrassed” moodlet about it. Seems fair.
After researching, I learned that being an actor is the fastest way to increase your Fame. I’ve had the Get Famous expansion pack since it was released in 2015, but I had never put a Sim in the Actor career. (This is why I love doing challenges. I probably never would have tried the Actor career!)
I signed Henry up for an audition, which allowed me to invite his new director over to the house. She, Henry, and Tory spent the afternoon chatting in the bathroom because of course they did.
You can’t follow your Sim for the audition, but I was able to follow him to the taping when Henry got the gig. His very first acting role!
He sat for hair and make-up. Who knew Henry would look so cute as a surfer dude?
I take it back, he doesn’t look like a surfer dude. He looks like a boy band member (if I’m being generous) or the most insufferable guy at the brewpub (if I’m not).
And then it was time to act. Henry acted his little Sim heart out.
At the end of the job, the director seemed happy with his work.
They made him remove the wig but let him wear his clothes home. I assume that’s how it works in real life, too.
At this point, I realized that although I had put the Celestial Crown on him before he left, he hadn’t worn it during the gig. So that was a waste of a perfectly good diamond.
